Persian Poetry Afternoon 2
Fakha at the Male Banquet
Join the Second Persian Poetry Afternoon as part of Cultuurhaven at West, with Farsi poetry and special musical performances.
On October 19, Eli returns to Cultuurhaven with a wonderful program for the second Persian Poetry Afternoon. In the Auditorium of the former American Embassy, members of The Hague’s Iranian communities will gather to share poetry, tell stories, and make music.
The special guest is Mehrnaz Salehi – writer, poet, and singer – who fled from Iran to the Netherlands in 1984. Over the years she has created music in various ensembles, written songtexts, and performed extensively. Several of her collaborations will be highlighted during the poetry afternoon, including those with the Shandiz Ensemble and Bam Commijs. Many of the songs showcase a blend of traditional Persian music and classical Western influences. With Salehi’s body of work, the afternoon promises to be truly beautiful.
